Director’s bio:

Rahul Aijaz is a writer, filmmaker and journalist based in Karachi, Pakistan.

His short film ‘The Imperfect Human’ played in the online ‘The Liftoff Sessions’ festival, and another short ‘A Train Crosses the Desert’ has been selected for the South Asian International Film Festival (NYC), Jaipur International Film Festival (India), Kazan International Film Festival (Russia), Asian Film Festival, LA, Hollywood, MICMX in Mexico, 8th International Silk Road Film Awards in Turkey and LIFFT INDIA FILMOTSAV – World Cine Fest.

Aijaz was a fellow at the screenwriting workshops held in 2019 by Locarno Open Doors and Vidhi Films. He has also been a part of ‘Film Talents – Unheard Voices from Pakistan and Afghanistan’ fellow by Goethe-Institut Pakistan since October 2019.

Aijaz has also served as the jury at the first ever Pakistan International Film Festival (PIFF) held in 2018. Currently, he is the adjunct faculty at Institute of Business Management (IoBM), teaching film courses to undergraduate media students.

As a journalist, he has written for The Express Tribune, Asia Journalists Association (Korea), Red Bull Pakistan, Zafigo, The Peace Journalist magazine, IGN Pakistan and more. He participated in the Asia Journalists Culture Forum (Korea, 2013), Lumbini International Media and Peace Conference (Nepal, 2014), and the World Journalists Conference (Korea) in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
